0.6.13-alpha // Compact tool labels

Tooltips now use short control names instead of full descriptive titles.
Longer descriptions remain available as secondary tooltip copy.
The tool tooltip now lives inline beside the Journal controls, on the editing side of the divider.

0.6.12-alpha // Atmospheric lifecycles

Smoke and cloud masses now dissipate from exposed outer faces instead of deleting interior cells when a timer expires.
Cloud rain now conserves mass: condensed cloud density is consumed directly into water quantity.
Clouds can fully rain themselves out instead of acting as permanent water generators.
Fire lifetime is shorter and now drains faster when it has no adjacent fuel or limited oxidizer.

0.6.11-alpha // Full-cell liquid painting

Painting Water, Oil, Toxic, or Lava now fills each painted cell to its available liquid capacity immediately.
Shape-tool liquid placement uses the same full-cell behavior.
Partial liquid cells remain a simulation result of flow, displacement, permeability, boiling, and reactions rather than the default brush output.

0.6.10-alpha // Interface-only lava quenching

Removed legacy Water↔Lava/Magma contact transforms that could propagate an obsidian shell beyond the true liquid interface.
Legacy lava now uses the same direct four-neighbor quench path as layered lava.
Only lava cells that are actually touching water can flash-quench to obsidian; steam alone cannot continue the quench.
Magma continues to quench only at direct water contact and cools to volcanic stone rather than spreading a crust remotely.

0.6.9-alpha // Thermal conversion expansion

Heat-driven material conversions now create a one-time pressure impulse from excess reaction heat.
Gas, smoke, steam, and fire products expand more strongly than solid-to-solid or melt transitions.
Thermal conversion pressure is directed upward, allowing burning dust and other hot reaction products to form natural updrafts.
Pressure is still event-driven; merely remaining hot does not continuously create pressure.

0.6.8-alpha // Native-resolution title logo

Increased the AEGIS title-logo canvas to match its display size instead of scaling a 124px raster up to roughly 248px.
Removed the hard pixel-threshold pass so the logo keeps clean antialiased edges at native resolution.
The smooth floating animation remains unchanged.

0.6.7-alpha // Login status layout

Scimitar credentials are now visually anchored beneath Play without creating an extra login-grid row.
AEGIS NODE // YOMA-3 status returns to its original position beneath the credential row.
Entering a username immediately changes the status to an identity-detected state instead of leaving the form in a credentials-required state.

0.6.6-alpha // Smooth logo float

Removed nearest-neighbor CSS scaling from the animated AEGIS logo so subpixel movement interpolates smoothly.
Simplified the idle float to one continuous ease-in/out arc instead of several shallow keyframe stops.
The logo artwork itself remains hard-thresholded and pixel-styled; only its motion is smoothed.

0.6.5-alpha // Scimitar credential placement

Moved the handwritten Scimitar credentials directly beneath the Play button.
The scribble is now anchored to the login grid instead of floating against the whole title screen.

0.6.4-alpha // Progressive credential completion

If a username is already entered, Play/Enter now preserves it and completes only the missing password field.
Once the missing password is supplied, login continues through the normal authorization path without the breach animation.
The full Scimitar takeover remains reserved for an entirely empty credential form.

0.6.3-alpha // Normal credential login

Play/Enter now uses a normal login path when both credential fields are already populated.
Prefilled credentials no longer trigger the Scimitar auto-type, corruption text, breach animation, or hack audio.
The dramatic breach sequence remains available only when credentials are missing.

Moved brush material and size into the editing toolbar.
Brush material is now independent from the active editing tool, so Shape and Picker share the same selected material context.
The material readout now shows both selected brush material and the material currently under the cursor.
Picker hover no longer overwrites the selected brush material; clicking samples into the shared brush slot.

Separated ordinary editing tools from field/force manipulation tools.
Added a material picker that samples the actual matter/fluid/gas under the cursor.
Added a Shape tool using the last selected paint material.
Shape options appear contextually beside the tool with Line, Rectangle, Circle and Outline/Filled modes.

Collapsed the redundant Impulse / Vacuum brush into the Pressure tool.
Pressure now supports directional drag jets, radial click pulses, and right-click vacuum through the same pressure field.
Added Charge and Moisture field tools so electricity and saturation can be manipulated without painting material cells.
Field tools now map one-to-one with the simulation layers they modify.

0.5.5-alpha // Faster pressure dissipation

Transient pressure now loses roughly twice as much energy per pressure step.
Contained pressure still persists longer than vented pressure, but no longer lingers excessively.
Hydrostatic and trapped-gas pressure floors are unchanged because they represent ongoing physical state rather than transient impulses.

0.5.4-alpha // Combustion atmosphere

Fire now depends on local oxidizing gas volume instead of burning from a lifetime timer alone.
Smoke, steam, cloud, liquid occupancy, and sealed walls displace available oxidizer, so enclosed fires can choke themselves out.
Combustion strength now controls heat release, fuel ignition, smoke production, and expansion pressure.
Combustion products are injected into the gas layer where possible, allowing smoke to fill enclosed spaces and feed back into the fire.

0.5.3-alpha // Coupled thermodynamics

Water boiling point now rises under compression/hydrostatic pressure and falls under low pressure.
Steam condensation becomes easier under pressure and harder in expanded low-pressure gas.
Electrical field losses now convert into Joule heat according to local resistance instead of simply disappearing.
Highly conductive metal carries charge with little resistive heating; water, wet sediment, steam, and poor conductors dissipate progressively more energy as heat.

0.5.2-alpha // Density, pressure, conductivity

Layered fluids now stratify by density: oil floats, water settles below oil, toxic liquid is slightly heavier, and lava is heaviest.
Liquid columns establish a bounded hydrostatic pressure floor that increases with depth without accumulating runaway pressure.
Trapped gas and steam establish compression pressure from density, confinement, and temperature rather than receiving an arbitrary repeated pressure pulse.
Removed the legacy liquid-electricity copy pass; charge now propagates only through the material-aware charge handoff solver.

0.5.1-alpha // Thermodynamics realism

Lava pools no longer self-heat simply because they are surrounded; exposed surface area now controls how quickly stored melt heat is lost.
Layered water can freeze into ice when sufficiently cold, with a separate freeze threshold from the boiling threshold.
Steam now condenses back into water when it cools, returning mass to the liquid layer and releasing latent heat.
Steam no longer vanishes solely because its lifetime expires while it is still present as a dense gas.

0.5.0-alpha // Unified field handoff

Heat, pressure, moisture, charge, and void now follow the same source → buffered handoff → decay architecture.
Temperature conduction is buffered and scan-order independent; buoyant heat now transfers conservatively into adjacent air.
Charge, moisture, and void handoff now respect material-specific conductivity/permeability instead of diffusing uniformly through everything.
Material sources inject into their own field cell and rely on the field solver to reach neighbors, removing duplicate electric/void/thermal emission paths.

0.4.4-alpha // Pressure propagation

Removed duplicate pressure generation from every hot air and thermal-fluid cell.
Pressure is now sourced by real events such as convection, boiling, impacts, and fluid motion, then handed through adjacent permeable cells.
Pressure direction now reflects transported momentum instead of being continually reset upward across an entire heated region.

0.4.3-alpha // Lava heat transport

Moving lava now carries its thermal field with its transferred mass instead of leaving a fixed hot cell behind.
Vacated lava cells retain only residual surface heat, allowing exposed rock to cool after the flow moves on.
Partial lava transfers preserve a hot source pool without duplicating heat into both source and destination.

0.4.2-alpha // Conservative heat transfer

Removed hot-solid heat re-emission that duplicated thermal energy every material tick.
Stone, glass, obsidian, metal, and other solids now cool only by conductive exchange and environmental loss.
Heat conducted into open air can rise through convection instead of being continually replenished by the solid.

Stone now melts into magma from sustained local heat without requiring pressure.
Magma only promotes into lava inside very hot, well-insulated melt cores.
Phase changes consume field heat so a hot pocket forms a lava core with a magma rind instead of running away.
